Alminda Linda Ray, 92, of Great Falls, passed away of natural causes Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Beehive Homes. A funeral mass was celebrated in her honor at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.Linda was born March 3, 1922 in Moncao, Portugal (Alminda DaCunha) where she lived until the age of eleven. She immigrated to the United States and lived in Newark, New Jersey where she met her future husband, Manuel Carlos Ray. After completing her education she went to work at Bank of America becoming the first female teller. Linda and Manuel were married in 1947 and they moved to California where they raised their four children. Linda was a devoted wife and mother and considered her children her most precious and greatest accomplishment. She derived endless joy from sharing in their lives.Linda returned to work in accounting and ultimately was the bookkeeper for the company Manuel started (ROK Industries) in 1972. They sold the business and retired in 1988 after which they made homes in Sun Lakes, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2003, they moved to Great Falls and lived next door to their son, Ronald Ray.Lindas favorite past times were baking, crocheting, tending her flower gardens, watching birds and listening to her childrens stories. She will be remembered for her amazing smile, kind and generous heart, unconditional love and caring, and devotion to her faith.Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Carlos Ray.She is survived by her four children, Barbara Ray Wentworth (Dean) of Flagstaff, AZ, Deborah Ray Malheiro (Bob) of Alta, WY, Ronald Ray (Peggy) of Great Falls and Robert Ray (Christina) of London, England; and four grandchildren, Michelle, Alex, Ashley and Jaycen.
