Alfred G. Davis, 102, passed away on April 17, 2018 at the Grandview in Great Falls. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel followed by burial of ashes at Highland Cemetery.Cremation has taken place with Schnider Funeral Home. Alfred was born August 31, 1915 in Werner, ND to George and Augusta Davis. He attended school in Werner, North Dakota and graduated in 1933. He moved to Saco, MT in 1934 and worked at the Peck Dam. Then he went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation which was based out of Malta, MT from 1935 to 1949. In 1942, Alfred entered the Army and served in the infantry in Germany. He was wounded and spent 6 weeks in the hospital in Belgium. The medals he received include: the Purple Heart, the World War II Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the American Campaign Medal. He also was a partner in Border Lanes Bowling in Opheim, MT from 1958 to 1961. Alfred also worked on construction of the missile sites and at the Montana State Employer Service from 1965 to 1979 and then retired. He met and fell in love with Eva M. Hammond and they were married on August 14, 1941. Alfred is survived by his wife Eva Davis and nephews and nieces.
