Artha Lee Art Tabor, 91, died August 6th2014, at the most wonderful care facility in townMT Gems, Sapphire House.A celebration of Moms life will be Saturday, August 16, 2014at 1:00 at Christ United Methodist Church.Schnider Funeral Home has been a huge help during this tough time.Mom and Dads ashes will be inurned at the Church immediately following the celebration and there will be an ice cream social in the fellowship hall of the churchall are welcome. Wear plaid if you wish in honor of her Scottish heritage of which she and her sisters were very proud!Mom was born in Great Falls October 3, 1922, the youngest of Arthur & Mamie Lewis five girls. She graduated from Great Falls High where she excelled in drama and chorus and was the Drum Majorette for the Bison Band.She went to college in Detroit moving home after one semester to be with her mother who was very ill.Mom was working at the Club Cafeteria when she met Ernie Tabor and they were married November 30, 1946five children were born over the next few years.Mom spent most of her working career as an administrative assistant in the Great Falls School District.She was active in the Business and Professional Women organization.BPW and the friends she made there were very special to her.Mom and Dad were charter members of Christ Methodist Church and served in all capacities of the Church, except filling the pulpit in spite of Dads preaching. The church and its members were lifelong friends.Mom is survived by her children, Trudy (Steve) Whitmore, Jeff (Jessica) Tabor, Kristi (Russ) Jessee and Tracy (John) Thelin.The lights of her life were her 13 grandchildren and nine greats,two more greats will arrive in Jan and March of 2015.Many, many nieces and nephews, whom she loved, also survive. Daughter Debra Kay died in 1950 and Dad died August 10, 1994.In 1991 granddaughter Rachel Rose Jessee was stillborn.All of Moms sisters and their spouses and Dads siblings and spouses have died.Memorials may be made to Christ Methodist Church, 2900 9Ave So, Great Falls, MT 59405.Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
