Audrey Kay Rutherford, 88, Great Falls, passed away August 17, 2019 at Peace Hospice. Audrey was born November 24, 1930, to George and Bertha (Gillis) Calvert, in Great Falls.After graduating from Great Falls High School in 1948, Audrey moved to San Diego and worked as a banker for 18 months.Audrey returned to Great Falls became engaged to Ernest Rutherford.Ernie was recalled to the military in December 1950.In 1951, Ernie and Audrey were married and lived in Seattle for a year before returning to Great Falls. She worked at various banks in Great Falls and before being employed at the Cascade County Assessor’s Office. In 1972 Audrey retired and moved with Ernie to the Plentywood area, where he worked as a customs agent.In 1982 they returned to Great Falls. Audrey served as worthy matron from 1988 to 1989 for the Order of the Eastern Star, Helen C. Roberts Chapter, the Daughters of Nile and active with the Scottish Rite Language Clinic. Survivors include her husband Ernest Rutherford, four daughters, Diane Anderson (Rick), Great Falls, Charlene O’Farrell, Renton, WA, Nancy Rutherford, Seattle, WA and JillJensen(Gary), Reserve, MT, three sisters Bonnie Lazure, Carol Perretti, Luanne Morris, 43 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Marie Cook, Joyce Nisbet, Barbara Shinaver, a brotherGeorge “Sonny” Calvert and a grandson Jamie Jensen. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 9, 2019 at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel at 11:00 am.Memorials are suggested to Scottish Rite Language Center or Helen C. Roberts O.E.S., Chapter 71.
