Barbara "Bobby" Staley

Barbara Bobby LaVonne Staley, 83, of Great Falls, passed away December 13, 2014 at Peace Hospice.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Barbara was born on August 21, 1931 in Lewistown, MT to Oscar and Marie (Wernli) Kjellgren. She was raised in Power, MT and graduated from high school there in 1949.On August 5, 1950, she married Raymond Staley in the 1st Methodist Church in Great Falls; they celebrated 64 years of marriage at their daughters cabin at Holland Lake.Barbara was employed with Northern School Supply, Northern Testing Laboratory, The Downtowner Retirement Home, Measuronics, retiring from the College of Technology in 1996.She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, puzzles and games of scrabble, or a hand of cards. She also loved her time spent outdoors, hiking, camping and travelling.She is survived by her loving husband Raymond; their children, Linda (Bill) Boettcher, Jodi (Mark) Rittenhouse, Ron (Rita) Staley and Greg Staley; sisters Betty Esparza and Helen (Dan) Spurgin; brother Leon (Kathy) Kjellgren; grandchildren, Wilton (Julie) Warren, Willow (Jeff) Fliginger, Wesley Boettcher, Catie (Jacob) Ruffini-Smith, Nicholas Boettcher, Ryan (Marci) Ruffini; and her seven great-grandchildren.Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sister Florence Brownie Steele; nephews Timothy Esparza and Jeff Spurgin.In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
