Beth (Sheffels) Wolff, 86, of Great Falls, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 of natural causes at a local hospital.A memorial service will be held at First Congregational UCC on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Beth was born on March 14, 1927. She grew up on the family farm north of Great Falls. She graduated from Great Falls High School on D-day in 1944.Wanting to see and experience the world she attended Stephens College and Stanford University, graduating in 1948. She then spent a memorable summer studying at Oxford University, sailing there on the Queen Mary and back on the Queen Elizabeth. Still with the urge to see the world, she spent three years in the navy. On her return to Montana, she spent a session as a clerk to Charlie Bovey at the Montana State Legislature. She then worked at the family business, Central Machinery, JCCS Accountants, and Church, Harris, Johnson & Williams Law Office.In 1962 she married Joe Wolff. They loved to travel together. Beth was an active member of many civic organizations and helped start NPR in Great Falls. In later years she worked with her brothers, Jim and John running the family farm.A huge lover of Peanuts and the New Yorker magazine, her wit was unsurpassed. She was an avid golfer. Beth was a wonderful daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend.Beth is survived by her brothers, Jim (Lynn Harrer) Sheffels of Great Falls, John (Marilyn) Sheffels of Great Falls; nieces and nephews, Steve (Michelle) Sheffels of Great Falls, Roger Croghan of Great Falls, Eric (Barbara) Sheffels of Wayland, MA, Pam (Kevin) Bedynek of Renton, WA, Kristin (Mark) Simpson of Kirkland, WA, Doug (Laurie) Croghan of Bozeman, Mike (Ann) Sheffels of Maple Grove, MN, Brenda Croghan of Paris, France, and Colleen (Lonnie) Nielsen of Polson; and 17 great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, BarbaraMemorials are suggested to Paris Gibson Square, 1400 1st Ave N, Great Falls, MT 59401.
