Betty 'Jean' Williamson, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 15, 2016. She passed away at Peace Hospice, in Great Falls, MT after an extended illness. She was 76 years old.Jean was born to Gottlieb and Katherine Bertsch, on August 27, 1940. Her family moved to Great Falls from Fairfield when she was 14 years old. It was here that she met her soul-mate and the love of her life, Joseph 'Sam' Williamson, in 1958. They were married in August of 1959. Jean made it her life to raise her four children, and she did it with the greatest compassion and unconditional love.Jean began working for the Great Falls School District in 1970. She worked as a teachers aide at Skyline Elementary. From there she went on to be the Supply Clerk for Special Education until she retired in 2006. Along with her full-time job, Jean worked for 49 years selling tickets for the Pioneer Baseball League in Great Falls; 35 years selling tickets for the East-West Shrine football games; 30 years selling tickets at the State Fair, Great Falls Symphony, Community Concerts, and at the stock cars; plus five years helping cook in the kitchen on Saturdays at the City Bar. Jean loved working but more than that, she absolutely loved the people she worked with and the many people she met while working.Jean was a member of St. Lukes Parish since it opened. Although she was not able to physically attend mass for the past few years, she faithfully watched mass service on her television at home. Prior to her illness she was very active at her parish as well as an active member of the Cum Christo movement and a bible study with many of her dearest friends.Jeans love for her family made us all strive harder...to live and love life to the fullest, and to count each and every blessing that has been bestowed upon us. Her love for the Lord and her faithfulness never wavered. She is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord and having the family reunion she had been talking about for some time.Jean is survived by her husband, Joseph Sam Williamson; daughters Sherry Vogel and Noreen (Frank) Bell; son Joseph (Linda) Williamson, Jr; sister Irene Brewer; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Jean is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and one sister; and most recently her daughter, Kathy.A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel.
