Beverly Bevie Ross Harpole, 82, of Great Falls, went to the arms of Jesus on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Benefis Extended Care surrounded by her family.A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Bevie was born to Helen (Paliga) and James Ross on February 13, 1932. Living her entire life in Stockett and graduating from Centerville High School. She met a young airman, Donald Harpole, and married him on February 1, 1952 and started their life just up the hill from her parents. Their family began that same year with the birth of Jimmy Don in December, and completing her family in 1956 with the birth of Kevin and Karleen. She was a wife and most of all, our mom, this was the job she was meant to do and did it well, doting on each of us, ruling with an iron fist and loving with all her heart. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1958 and this disease ravished her body, but never her spirit. She was always pushing herself to do all things, even when we all knew how much it hurt. She survived many surgeries and life threatening health scares. We lovingly referred to her as the Energizer Bunnyshe just kept on ticking.Donald passed away in 1985 forcing her to move to Great Falls to be closer to family, even though Jackie wanted her to live with him in Stockett. This move gave her a new found independence and she enjoyed living in her little apartment until January 2013 when a series of health issues forced her to move to Benefis Extended Care. She found security there and loved everyone who took care of her.Bevie was a very knowledgeable person. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, reading the Tribune, crocheting, watching Jeopardy and TV in general. We all wanted her as a partner when playing trivia because she knew all the answers. She was always up for an adventure and never turned down a drive or a trip to see family, even flying for the first time at 74 to see her granddaughter. Her favorite past time was playing Bingo, making many friends at the Bingo Bonanza and Senior Center.Bevie loved her Lord Jesus and prayed the Rosary and read scripture daily. She is with Him now and in that we find peace. She is survived by her sons James (Joy) Harpole of Great Falls and Kevin (Tammy) Harpole of Billings; daughter Karleen Voytoski of Great Falls; adopted daughter Rudy Newman of Great Falls; grandchildren Grant (Melissa) Ratliff, Nick (Tabrisha) Harpole, Rachel (Rich) Eniem, Dylan Harpole, Stacee (Justin) Meccage, Dustin (Sami Smith) Voytoski, and Reese (Shane) Newman; great grandchildren Colter Ratliff, Riley Ratliff, Luke Eniem, Kyler, Hudson, and Rylan Meccage, and Jefferson Newman; and her lifelong friend and Bingo buddy Bev Pepos. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Harpole; parents Helen and James Ross; beloved brother Jackie Ross; and great grandson Grayson Meccage.Rest Mama, your work here is done.
