Bruce A. Osterman, 65, of Great Falls, passed away at Peace Hospice surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 after a hard fought battle with colon cancer.A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at the Hideout Lounge, 2401 12th Ave S. Cremation has taken place and no other services are planned per his request.Bruce was born in Great Falls to Lee (Kercher) and Lewis Herman Osterman. He attended grade school in Denton, Geraldine and White Sulphur Springs and graduated with the class of 1969 from Great Falls High. He immediately began working in the construction trade and later joined the Carpenters Union. He worked construction his entire career until he retired from the union in August of 2006.He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He meticulously processed his own wild game and made a mean batch of smoked delicacies. Bruce had an incredible sense of humor, which got him through the lowest points of his cancer treatment and kept his friends, family and oncology staff on their toes.Bruce is survived by his wife, Mardi; sister Ardis Webb; brothers, Dick (Marilyn) and DuWayne; daughters, Jessie Plant, Jayme (Justin) Wonsick, Jill, Jody (Michael) Woods; son Jerad; stepchildren Justin and Jaimi Popovich; nieces DDea Pond, Simon Webb, Lindsey (John) Seitz, and Virginia; nephews Richard L. and Ryan (Ashley); as well as eight grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee (Osterman) Ryan and Lewis Osterman.Memorials may be sent to Great Falls Clinic Legacy Foundation, 3010 15th Ave. S., Great Falls, MT, 59405.
