Candace Rising Sun

Candace Louise Rising Sun, 60, of Great Falls, a beautiful soul has been put to rest on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 1:45 p.m. My mom fought the battle of her life after having a brain tumor removed on September 1, 2016.Candace was born on November 16, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA to Rodgers and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Watson. We moved to Great Falls, Montana at the end of 1989, where she settled to be a homemaker and an inspiration to everyone who entered her life. She gave advice and guidance to all who were in need, which created a lot of friends who became family to enter her life.My mom always wanted a football team of kids and that was what she created by becoming the Grandma of the neighborhood. She instilled kindness, strength, compassion and lots and lots of love in all of us. We will honor her memory by being encouraging, inspirational and strong, never giving up the way she fought. She kept you laughing all the way to the end!Candace is survived by her husband, Dale Nelson of Great Falls and ex-husband, Sam Rising Sun, both of whom loved her very much; sons Nickoma and Devon Rising Sun and extended family Dave Nelson and Joe Dansereau; daughters Anna Keesler and extended family Christy Nelson and Carol Dansereau; brother Roger Watson of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters Susan Wiggers of Belpre, OH and Elizabeth Johnson of PA; grandchildren Alisha Keesler, Randy Keesler II, Haley Keesler all of Great Falls and extended family Bella, Gabe, Felicity, Promise and Shawn Marie; great-grandchildren Eirik, Candace II, and Christopher.She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Elizabeth Johnson and extended family Jer, Sheree and Casey Dansereau.A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 17, 2017 at her home, 612 4th Avenue South, Great Falls, MT.
