Caroline C. Edwards

Caroline C. Edwards passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, December 18th, after a long illness.Born Carolina Chesera Carbonari to parents Antonio and Angelina Carbonari on May 24th, 1926 in Somers, MT.Caroline (Nina) was the youngest of 3 daughters.Her mother passed away before her 2nd birthday. As a result, Antonio returned to Italy and married Angelinas younger sister, Luigina. Gina then moved to the U.S./Somers & raised Caroline along with her two older sisters, Mary and Rose as her own. Caroline loved the beauty of the Flathead Valley and always enjoyed returning for vacations with family. Caroline is survived by her daughter & loving caregiver, Jacquiline Edwards (Seattle/Great Falls) and son James (Judy) Edwards of Mukilteo, WA. Granddaughter, Alexandra Gina (Tom) of Innsbruck, Austria as well as great-grandson, Matteo. Family also includes niece Barbara (Ray) Carroll of Alabama & nephew Randall (Georgia) of Indiana.Carolines husband John (Jack) passed away in 2005, as did her sisters in previous years. Our mother was never one for a lengthy obituary, so just it be said that she instilled strong family values, be respectful of others, be proud of your heritage and where you came from. Her devotion and sacrifice to those she loved was absolute.Growing up in an Italian family was challenging, passionate, loving, forgiving, full of laughter, and never short of an amazing meal. Godspeed mother. Those of us left behind will love you and miss you always.The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the fine services of Dr. Daniel Gordon and his staff, particularly nurse Becca. The compassionate care of the Peace Hospice Groupmost notably Cheryl Hackett, RN and volunteer Phyllis Kronebusch. No services are planned at Carolines request.
