It is with deep sadness to announce that Charles John Holzheimer, age 64, passed away on September 20, 2020, at his home in Great Falls of natural causes. Chuck was born in Great Falls on June 20, 1956, to Robert V. and Virginia T. (Pinski) Holzheimer. He was the second born of six children. His early education started in Great Falls, and continued at Greenfield/Fairfield schools when the family moved out to the Fairfield bench area. The family then moved to the farm in Fort Shaw, where Chuck graduated from Simms High School in 1974. He started working for Andy Tires in Great Falls, and then on to Jerry Noble Tires where he managed the retread shop for many years until they closed. He finished his career with Fed Ex, retiring in the summer of 2018. Many life-long friendships were made over the years during his working career. Chuck married Terria Gilbert on August 12, 1978, in Fairfield, MT. They later divorced in 2000. Together they had three children, Chad, Scharli, and Christi. They all have many wonderful memories of growing up in Fairfield, and of the countless outdoor trips together involving camping, fishing, and hunting. Chuck created an outdoor tradition for them, a tradition they will continue to uphold and enjoy. He loved the outdoors and involving his children in everything he did. Passing along traditions to his children and grandchildren was important to him. Watching them hunt and fish was everything to him and made him beam with pride. His favorite escape was the Little Belt Mountains in the Monarch area. It was the deep roots and strong family ties that made that area so special to him. He loved the relationships with family and many loyal friends in the Monarch area, and enjoyed stopping by for a cold one and a good conversation. Chuck is survived by his children, Chad (Brittany) Holzheimer, Scharli (Travis) Loney, and Christi Holzheimer; brothers, Russ (Pam) Holzheimer, Mark (Cindy) Holzheimer, Wes Holzheimer, and Ben (James) Holzheimer; sister, Rebecca (Michael) Ellingsworth; and five grandchildren, Grace, Zella, Casey, Adia, and Quinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Virginia Holzheimer. Dad will be remembered by his easy going and good-natured personality. He will be greatly missed by all. He had a heart of gold and would give anyone the shirt off his back. His death leaves a huge hole in our hearts. No services are planned at this time. A celebration of life to include family and friends will take place at a later date.
