Tracy was born on May 7, 1948, in St. Ignatius, Montana to Bella Jean Mitchell. He was adopted by loving parents Charles and Beatrice Michelletti along with his older brother George. Tracy grew up in Black Eagle, MT, and graduated from C.M. Russell High School in 1966. He spent much of his younger years working in restaurant management. Tracy decided to return to college in his 30s, obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the College of Great Falls. He went on to complete his higher education at MSU-Northern, graduating with a master’s degree in counseling/ psychology in May 1992. After obtaining his master's degree, he worked for DFS as a social worker and consultant to attorneys in cases involving Native American Children. Tracy also worked for the Great Falls School system as the director of Indian Education and the University of Great Falls as the director of the Montana Addictions Training Center. Later in life, Tracy decided to get into business as a contractor in the construction industry.
Tracy had deep roots in his Christianity. He was never one to push his beliefs on to anyone, but he would share the Lord’s word and his love of God with everyone. He faced a lot of ups and downs in his life, but he never lost touch with knowing that Jesus was his Lord and Savior.
He was an excellent cook. Green pepper steak and beef fried rice were two of the meals his loved ones always requested. He was an avid pool player and those who played with him would tell you he is an excellent pool player and a true gentleman. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching sci-fi shows. Back in the days of network television, he was a huge fan of the game show Jeopardy. In fact, there was no talking for that 30 mins.
Tracy was married to Barbara Ann Patton. From that union came daughters Tracy, Theresa, and son Matthew. They divorced in 1987. Tracy was later married to Brenda Kay Mathes. From that marriage came daughter Victoria and son Joshua. That union ended in divorce as well.
