Charlotte Kirby

Charlotte Helene Kirby, 65, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 from a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loved ones.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel a burial of ashes will follow at Sun River Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Office Bar in Vaughn, Montana following the inurnment. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Charlotte was born on November 25, 1948 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She attended school and was raised in Winifred, Montana. She worked numerous jobs all of her life, including highway construction jobs for many years. She was custodian at Great Falls Votech and Fed Ex.She loved spending time on the family homestead, genealogy, rock hunting, gardening, fishing, camping, and participated for several years in the Relay for Life. She enjoyed spending time at home with her cats.Charlotte is survived by her husband Clifford Kirby of Sun Prairie; daughter Tracey (Dennis) Flesch of Sun Prairie; sister Linda (Stuart) Carlson of Missoula; step children Patty (Darin) Hunter of Oklahoma, Clint (Rhonda) Kirby of Hungry Horse; grandchildren Michael (Christine) Flesch, Sarah, Melissa, John, Devin, Danielle, Justin, Colton, Breeanna, Brennan, and Brookie; and three great-granchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Lois Scheifler; husband Jack Long; brother, Roger Scheifler, daughter Bonnie Long; stepson Scott Kirby; and grandson Shawn Campbell.
