Christian Lloyd Haney

Christian Lloyd Haney, 21, of Great Falls, passed away in his home Monday, October 27, 2014, from complications related to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Christian was born on October 12, 1993 at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. After moving several times as a youngster, his family settled in Great Falls where he lived the last 16 years of his life. He received his education from Charles M. Russell High School.In his pre-teen years, he learned to read sheet music and play the clarinet. This planted the seed for his love of music. He later taught himself how to play the harmonica. He had a great love for all types of music, but his favorite artist was Kid Cudi. Having been able to attend two NASCAR races in Las Vegas, he also became a big fan of Jeff Gordon.Anyone who was lucky enough to know Christian knew how gentle and kind his spirit was. He never really cared for receiving gifts, but was always grateful for the thought. His biggest joy came in giving and he always loved to watch someone open a gift that he purchased. Even with all of the obstacles that he faced, his first concern was always someone elses well being.He spent his last day at home with his family doing the things he loved most, including watching the NASCAR race with his brother.Christian is survived by his parents, Dave and Lisa Haney and brother Andrew Haney all of Great Falls; grandparents John and Su Peterson of Lewistown; great-grandparents Donald and Dona Haney of Cookeville, TN and Joan Peterson of Lewistown; uncle Roger Haney of Jeffersonville, KY; aunts Tina (Tom) Garland and Kim (Rich) Harned of Butte, Sherry (Patrick) Evans of Douglas, WY, and Sonja Peterson of Lewistown; and twelve first cousins.
