Dale Merwin DeVault, 89, of Great Falls, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020. A vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. A funeral liturgy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Our Lady of Lourdes with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Dale was born on October 18, 1930, to Wilber and Ethel (Jackson) DeVault in Tiltonsville, Ohio. He graduated from Jefferson Union High School before joining the US Air Force at the age of 17. He went to college at the College of Great Falls while serving his country in the Montana Air National Guard as a Meteorologist. He was also employed with the Jefferson State Park, GTA, Pepsi Cola, and the State of Montana Job Service. He married Esther Madeline Martina and together they had one daughter and two sons. Dale was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. He loved bowling, softball, fishing, and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Esther; children, Mary DeVault Obaza, and James and Louis DeVault; four grandchildren, Oliver, Sean, Gena, and Raynah; five great-grandchildren, Madeline, Gianna, Alaina, Desmond, and Parker; and sister, Margie. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber and Ethel; brother, James; and sisters, Alice, Dorothy, and Mary.
