Darlene Marie Fronsee

Darlene Fronsee, 75, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully November 22, 2017 at her home with her family by her bedside. At her request, no public service will be held. A private burial with the family will take place at a later date. Darlene was born at home in Harlowton, Montana on October 17, 1942 to Frances (Collins) and Linden Rasmussen. She graduated from Harlowton High School. She moved to Great Falls to attend Columbus School of Nursing graduating as a registered nurse in 1963. She worked at the Columbus Hospital OB and Pediatrics for more than 30 years. In 1963, she married Edward Fronsee at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. They were happily married for 50 years until his passing in 2014. For several years, Darlene courageously fought a rare cancer, and given her love for medicine she volunteered for an experimental treatment to aid in the cure of future cases. As a child, Darlene especially enjoyed roller and ice skating, playing jacks and kick the can. As an adult, she and Ed looked forward to their annual pilgrimage to Jackpot, Nevada and Tucson, Arizona. She also enjoyed reading and watching old classic television. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include, sons Mike (Anita) Fronsee of Great Falls, Bob (Lauren) Fronsee of Black Eagle, and Richard (Karen) Fronsee of Plano, TX; daughters Laurie (Bryan) Fox of Helena and Karen (Ken) Dey of Meridian, ID; 11 grandchildren, Aaron, Amanda, RJ, Sarah, Cassie, Misty, Shana, Greg, Ben, Kyle and Kaitlyn; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers Don and Gary Rasmussen; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials in Darlene’s name can be given to Great Falls Animal Shelter, 1010 25th Avenue NE, Great Falls, MT 59404, 406-454-2276.
