Darlene Josephine Linssen

Our dear mother, Darlene Josephine Linssen, passed away on October 3, 2024, at the age of 87, surrounded by loving family at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.

Darlene was born on April 6, 1937, in Bismarck, North Dakota to parents, Joseph Chesak and Katherine (Weigel) Chesak. She graduated from Bismarck High School and had one year of medical secretarial school. Darlene worked as a medical transcriber for 39 years with the Great Falls Clinic. She married Verne Linssen in 1957, and they were together 65 years until his passing in January 2023.

Darlene enjoyed leisure sports like tennis and skiing. In her retirement she liked traveling, crosswords, scrapbooking, and photography.

She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, Greg (Libby), Steve, and Randy Linssen; and grandson, Josh Linssen all of Great Falls. Darlene also loved her dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and four sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Great Falls Animal Shelter and Peace Hospice.
