David “Loper” Lee, aged 59, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Great Falls, MT. He was born on May 2, 1967, in Spokane, WA. He graduated from Simms High School.
As soon as they would allow him to, he joined the Fort Shaw Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighting was his life and joy; he loved teaching anybody that was interested in learning the craft.
After high school he joined MANG where he would spend the next 30 years as a fireman. When that didn’t fully satisfy his “firefighting bug”, he joined the Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, where he would spend 25 years fighting fires and teaching the next generation of firefighters.
He is survived by his spouse, Sandra; son, Christopher; moms, Jean Lee and Terry Espy; sister, Dawn Rua-Buckley; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Lee; grandparents; several aunts, uncles; and good friends.
A service will be held, Friday May 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Scottish Rite Building, 1304 13th St S, Great Falls, MT. A viewing will be one hour prior to service.
