Deloris Higgins

June 24, 1931 — September 6, 2025

Great Falls

Deloris Higgins, 94, of Great Falls, Montana, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 24,1931, in North Dakota to Edward and Mary Stack, Deloris married Donald Higgins on June 16,1959, and together they raised three children. She worked for many years at C.M. Russell High School in the cafeteria, where her warmth touched many lives.

Deloris enjoyed sewing, ceramics, bingo, playing cards, and especially cooking and baking for family and friends. She never let anyone leave her home hungry. Her greatest joy of all was the love she had for her family. She instilled in them the importance of love and togetherness. The traditions she built, especially during the holidays, will be cherished and passed on for generations to come.

Her faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. Deloris spent many years enjoying Bible studies and prayer, and when her health no longer allowed her to attend church, her dear friend, Pastor Betty, faithfully came to her home to read scripture and pray with her. Those moments brought Deloris peace and joy, reminding her that God’s presence was with her always.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Higgins; son, Keith Stack; parents, Edward and Mary Stack; brothers, Richard and James Stack; sister, Rose Mary Ranken; and dear friend, Donald Broughton.

Deloris is survived by her children, Allen Higgins, Janelle (Clarence) Boschee, and Kerri Flom; grandchildren, Chad, Tami, Jerod, Becky, Jill, Jeremy, and Christian; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Haiden, Sonja, Jeffrey, Kiara, Kane, Makayla, DJ, Brodey, Brentlee, Taylor, Miles, Cannon, and Wyatt.

Her life was a gift to all who knew her, and her legacy of love, laughter, and tradition will live on in her family forever.
