Deloris Patefield, 92, of Great Falls, passed away of natural causes, Saturday, January 16, 2021, at her home. Deloris was born September 27, 1928, in Great Falls, MT to Albert and Emma R. Tessman. She was raised on a farm in Simms and graduated from Simms High School in 1946. She married Wally Patefield in 1947. They celebrated 61 wonderful years together. Deloris enjoyed working with young people. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout and Brownie Leader, PTA President, and 4-H Leader. She volunteered at her church and was a school volunteer. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Sunnyside School, volunteered at County Nursing Home, was an election judge and homemaker. She was a long-time member of the Myrtle Rebekah Lodge, having been a Noble Grand and Past Noble Grand. She was also a member of Rainbow Garden Club and West Side Methodist Church. Deloris enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved all flowers, especially her roses. Survivors include her daughters, Valerie A. Cole and husband, Dan of Belgrade and Elaine E. Thompson and husband, Mark Haney of Tulsa, OK; son, John A. Patefield and wife, Liz of Kalispell; sister, Hazel Sand of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Lorelle Thompson, Brooke Thompson (Geoff Gaskin), Jennifer (Collin) Oliphant, Kimberly Cole, Chad (Krista) Cole, and Maurissa (Shane) Acord; seven great-grandchildren; and her daughter by another mother, Kathy Stone. Preceding her in death are her husband, Wally; sisters, Louise Eller and Clione Baker; and great-granddaughter, Alyson Cox. Her memorial service will be announced at a later date.
