Dorthie Fullerton

Dorthie Maxine Fullerton, 88, of Helena and formerly of Great Falls, quietly passed away on May 25, 2016 at Aspen Gardens in Helena.Dorthie was born February 16, 1928 to Robert and Alice Swain in Great Falls. She grew up with her sisters, Shirley (Bob) Bowlin and Lorraine (Sam) Samuels.After graduating from Great Falls High School she married Howard (Scotchie) Fullerton in October 1946. They had 60 years together when Scotchie passed in 2006. They had three daughters, Marvilee, Kathy and Sandi.Dorthie retired from her position of bookkeeper at H-O Auto Supply after many years. She was a social butterfly and had a large circle of friends. She and Scotchie enjoyed years of camping, boating, exploring the mountains on motorcycles, being on the open road on their touring bike, the cabin they built together in Lincoln and traveling in their motor home. Always Family First was their motto.She is survived by her sister Lorraine (Sam) Samuels of Great Falls; daughter Sandi (Ed) Zitnik, Jefferson City, MT; grandchildren, Russy (Jason) Jean of Mount Joy, PA, Kaimy (Jay) Marks of Montana City, MT, Reese (Stacy) Gannon of Idaho Falls, ID, Jake (Brandee) Zitnik of Jefferson City, MT and Kaych (Tara) Opheim of Helena, MT; nine great-grandchildren (with one more on the way); numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Dorthie was preceded in death by her parents; sister Shirley Bowlin; daughters, Marvilee and Kathy; and grandson Justin Opheim.Dorthie was fortunate to be a part of the Aspen Gardens family in Helena since December of 2010. Aimee, Sherri and the staff took awesome care of her.
