Edwin Kenneth Ferguson, "Fergie," born in Great Falls on February 27, 1936, to Lyman and Tillie Ferguson, passed away at age 89 on October 4, 2025.

Ed joined the Navy at 17, proudly serving during the Korean war on the U.S.S. Maddox - "The Galloping Ghost of the China Coast," after which he served in the Seabees for many years. He was married to Bertha Finlayson from October,1964 until her death in November, 2023. They had two children, Sharon and Doug.

Ed made his living as a welder/fabricator and later worked for the Great Falls school district.

Ed was known and loved by everyone for his great sense of humor and joyful personality. He loved fishing, camping, and singing - even performing with a barbershop quartet. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles - especially riding and racing with his friend, Evel Knievel, in his 20s.

He is survived by his son, Doug; grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler; great-grandson, Colt; several nieces and nephews; cousin, Keith (Ann) Lassila; sisters-in-law, Ellarene Finlayson and Mary Louise Finlayson; and brother-in-law, Russell Finlayson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, and daughter, Sharon.

Ed lived at The Lodge for the last several years where he was much loved and well cared for.
