Florence Genevieve Lueck, 80, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Peace Hospice House. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Private family services are planned for Memorial Day weekend in Medicine Lake, Montana.Florence was born April 24, 1934 on the family farm near Dagmar, Montana to W.O. and Grace S. (Grandahl) Landsrud. She was baptized and confirmed at the Medicine Lake Lutheran Church and attended school there. She married Almer Roness in 1954 and they later divorced. She married Warren Francis in 1963 and they later divorced. Florence made many friends in her home communities, including Plentywood, Glasgow, Great Falls, Bowbells and Noonan, ND, and Douglas, WY.Florence cherished days with her siblings on the family farm milking cows and goats, tending chickens and pigs, and weeding the large garden. She enjoyed her employment in hospitals, restaurants, retail stores, and as a caregiver. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, singing, and playing the piano and accordion. Many people appreciated her enthusiastic music contributions in the Olde Tyme Country Band or as a soloist for senior centers, nursing homes, and private parties. Memberships included the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, RSVP, and the Congregational Church.Florence is survived by her children, Charlene Schmitz of Havre, Vonnie (Dave) Brown of Great Falls, Catherine West of Sioux Falls, SD, Lance (Dawn) Roness of Minot, ND, Sherri (Brian) Meidinger of Casper, WY, and Sherwin Francis of Douglas, WY; her grandchildren Daren and LeAlan Schmitz, Kristin Brown, Stephanie, Stacy, Denae, Deanna, and Shawn West, Alan and Aaron Roness, Amy (Roness) Smith, Jerad and Justin Meidinger; her 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Willard (Lovella) Landsrud of Wolf Point; sisters Viola Russell of Waterford, MI, Wilma Weaver of Lakeland, FL, Dorothy Tucker of Townsend, and Alice Madsen of Billings; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kermit and Gaylord; an infant sister; an uncle, Alden Grandahl; and an infant great-granddaughter.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Hospice House, RSVP, or the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
