Floy V. Larsen, 102, of Great Falls, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Per her request, no services are being held. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home with inurnment to take place at a later date at Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum. Floy was born on April 5, 1916 in Wisner, Nebraska. She came to Great Falls in 1947 from San Francisco to work for Greely Elevator Company. She worked there until 1967, at which time the business was sold. She graduated from the College of Great Falls (now the University of Providence) in 1965 Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She accepted a teaching contract with the Los Angeles Unified School District from 1968 to 1970, returning to Great Falls in 1970 to teach in the Business Department at the Vo-Tech Center (now the MSU College of Technology), retiring in July of 1983. Since her retirement, she has done volunteer work at Benefis West, CM Russell Museum Visitor’s Center, and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Floy was also a member of the Speck Ladies and Anaconda Hills Ladies Golf Association, as well as several card clubs. Floy is survived by three step-nieces in Iowa and Wisconsin.
