FLOYD DALE RASMUSSEN, 84, March 10, 1942 – October 19, 2026

Floyd was born on March 10, 1942, in Havre, MT to Loren & Helen (Dahl) Rasmussen. He was raised on the family farm in Chinook, MT, and was the eldest son of five: brother, Phil Rasmussen; and sisters, Barbara Manthey, Markita Craft and Michele McKerrihan.

After graduation he left for Seattle to attend computer school. In 1963, he married his sweetheart Melody Craft. While in Seattle, Floyd and Melody started their family, and he enjoyed working as a computer programmer at the University of Washington. In 1970, Floyd and Melody returned to Chinook, MT to raise their kids on the family farm, and work alongside his father and brother.

Floyd was an unassuming man who was known for his neighborly spirit, and his enthusiasm for farming. Above all he will be remembered for his strong Christian faith, the kindness and care he showed his friends, and the amazing love he showed his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Melody (née Craft) Rasmussen; children, Eric Rasmussen, James (Julie) Rasmussen, Laura “Buffy” (Greg) Young, and Branda Rasmussen; and his four grandchildren, Cole (Bri) Rasmussen, Ben Rasmussen, Beau Rasmussen, and Rowan Conway.
