Frances Johnson, passed away in Billings on April 11, 2018 at the age of 77. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Great Falls. Fran was born January 27, 1941 in Great Falls to Anthony “Tony” E. and Elizabeth Flora (Lesh) Golewich. Fran grew up in Great Falls, MT and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1959. Fran worked at the Westside Library when she met Boland Shanley. They were married on May 13, 1961. Together they had three children, Roberta, Frank, and Mike. Fran and Bo divorced on January 3, 1975. At that time, Fran was employed by Great Falls Public Schools and worked at Paris Gibson High School as a truant officer. Fran met Dick Johnson, they were married January 20, 1979. Fran moved to Castner Falls to live the farm life and was employed as a substitute teacher at Cascade High School. They were divorced on July 7, 1993. Fran later moved to Billings to be closer to family. Fran was a great mother, homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Fran enjoyed gambling, eating out and relaxing along the river near Craig with her close friend, Sharlee. Fran had many friends and will be missed dearly. Fran is preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Shanley and her parents Anthony "Tony" E. and Elizabeth Flora (Lesh) Golewich. Those she leaves behind include two sons, Frank (Marcie) Shanley; Mike (Kelly) Shanley; one granddaughter, Stephanie; three grandsons, Tyler (Caitlin), Aaron and Kevin.
