Glenda Faye Evans

Glenda Faye (Kinney) Evans of Great Falls, Montana, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Reflections Memory Care (Grandview at Benefis) surrounded by love. Her life was defined by faith, kindness, friendship, and an unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Glenda was born on October 6, 1942, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, to Edythe Erma (Clausen) Kinney and David Franklin "Frank" Kinney. Raised mainly in South Dakota, she later graduated from Glasgow High School in Montana, where she was honored as “Queen of the Senior Class”. In 1968, she made Great Falls, Montana her permanent home. It was there, at a church singles event, that she met her beloved husband, David Edward Evans. They were married on June 18, 1977, and became a blended family with her son, Bruce and adopted sons, Ken and Guy.

Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, David Evans; and parents, Frank and Edythe Kinney.

She leaves behind her brother, Jim (Carol) Kinney of Newcastle, WY; sister-in-law, Sally Evans of Wichita, KS; and dear family friend, Jennifer Holmes. She is also survived by her three sons, Bruce Thill of Honolulu, HI; Ken Evans of Great Falls, MT; and Guy (Robin) Evans of Jackson, WY; eight grandchildren, Dana Thill, Jenna McFarlane (Ryal), Bridger Thill; David (Lanie) Evans, Jade Evans, Chloe Evans, Shelby Evans and Hollis Evans; and 4 great-grandchildren, Bentley Thill, Mason McFarlane, Lucas McFarlane and Leroy Evans; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Professionally, Glenda spent 25 years working in administration for the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Union. After retiring in the mid-1990s, she embraced a vibrant life filled with volunteering, travel, and community involvement. She treasured traveling with family on cruises, bus tours and journeys across her beloved Big Sky Country and the Grand Tetons. Through her church, she coordinated funeral receptions, prepared meals, and quietly served wherever she saw a need. Her church family remained one of the greatest blessings of her life.

Glenda was well-known for her love of Bridge, Pinochle, and Bunco and was a dedicated member of the Women of the Moose #547. She delighted in gathering with friends around a table filled with laughter, stories, and friendly competition. Many of these friendships spanned decades and were among the most treasured relationships of her life. Over the years, she also held a deep love for her dogs, especially her Poodles and her two Jack Russells, caring for them as tenderly as children.

Bravely, Glenda faced Alzheimer's disease twice in her later years. She first navigated the illness while caring for her mother, Edythe, at home, supported closely by her friends Jennifer and Marian. Later, when Glenda received her own diagnosis, she handled it with the same selflessness, grace, and courage that marked her entire life. Jennifer, once again, was by her side as a constant companion, caregiver, and angel. Even as the disease progressed, Glenda’s face would light up upon seeing family and friends—especially Jennifer—and she never ceased bringing joy to those around her. Glenda was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Stacy Kingsland and the staff at Northwest Physicians PLLC for Glenda’s exceptional and compassionate care over the years. They also thank the wonderful nurses, caregivers, and staff at Reflections Memory Care for the kindness and dignity provided during her 16 months as a resident, as well as Peace Hospice for their gentle comfort in her final days. Finally, the family expresses their deepest thanks to her next-door neighbors, who provided steadfast friendship and support for so many years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenda’s memory to either Faith Lutheran Church (Great Falls, MT) or the Alzheimer’s Association (Alzheimer's Association ). 

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Great Falls, MT. A reception will follow immediately at the church, followed by a graveside service. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the funeral service will be available.
