Glenn "Bud" Kittelson

Glenn A. Bud Kittelson, 95, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2014 at Peace Hospice.Bud Kittelson was born April 28, 1919 to Charles J. and Clara Berg Kittelson in Ballantine, Montana. He was the 5th of 8 children. He was a pioneer in the aviation field starting his career with the US Army Air Corp where he served in the IndiaBurma Theater. He was decorated with the Bronze Star for his service to the country during World War II. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Great Falls from 1948 until his retirement after more than forty years of service.He married Marjorie Hyde Kittelson on June 27, 1948. They had one son Donald J. Kittelson.At the age 80 he became a volunteer for the AARPs 55 Alive Defensive Driving Campaign. He honed his computer skills and relied on his strong work ethic to become a very capable instructor and advisor. He served as North Central Montana Coordinator for this program until the end of 2013.Bud was a loving husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He will also be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, his pride in America and the Re"public"an Party, his willingness to help his family and friends, his love of Montana, his strong will and his love for all things Scandinavian. Those who knew Bud may not always have agreed with him but they did respect him.Bud became an avid golfer after retiring from the FAA. He would be found golfing at Eagle Falls most weekdays with his buddies until he was 90 and his health began to decline.He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Marji; his son Don (Raquel); his niece Bertie (Dan) Rust; five grandsons Eros Canabrava, Shane (Lara), Dylan, Caio Glenn and Daniel James Kittelson; two grandnieces Breeanne (Derrick) Powell and Staci (Marc) Weichel and their families; sisters Margaret Peterson and Dorothy Coffeen and very special friends Pam Quinn and Janet Talcott.The family will gather for a private ceremony at a later date.
