Herb "Bud" Eakman

Herb Bud Eakman, 88, of Great Falls, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016.Bud was born on January 14, 1928 in Great Falls. He graduated from Great Falls High School. He attended Montana State College and majored in agriculture. After graduation, Bud was a mentor at the Boys Industrial School in Miles City. Later he graduated Eastern Montana College with a degree in Education and a Masters degree in School Administration. He was employed as a teacher and an administrator in the Billings "public" School District. He had a ranch in the Great Falls area for many years.Bud married his loving wife, Frances in 1947. They had three wonderful children, Nancy (Mike) Schaeffer of Camas, Washington, Jennifer (Bob) Blackford of Billings, Montana, and Don (Margaret) Eakman Great Falls.Bud is survived by his wife, Frances of Great Falls; daughter Nancy (Mike) Schaeffer; son Don (Margaret) Eakman; son-in-law Bob Blackford; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Blackford; parents Grover and Ethel Eakman; sisters Bonny (Elmer) Fleshman and Betty (Les) Jackson.In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to a charity of your choice.A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery
