Irene Mae Crawford, 64, of Great Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Metropolitan Community Church, 1220 17th Str. S., Great Falls, MT. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Irene was born on October 20, 1950 in Grafton, North Dakota to Gordon and Lucy (Carignan) Crawford. She attended school and received her higher education in North Dakota. She moved to Montana following a sightseeing trip through Glacier National Park. She was a registered nurse and ER supervisor in Billings. She also worked at the Crow Agency, Browning Hospital and finally at Benefis in Great Falls.In 1984, Irene was a founder of the Metropolitan Community Church in Billings and in 1988, the Metropolitan Community Church in Great Falls. She served full-time as the pastors spouse, Rev. Micah Hartung, until her health limited her energy and mobility.Irene enjoyed photography, beading, gardening and flowers. She especially loved all of the colors in her favorite pastimes. Some of her favorite family times were spent at the cabin on Flathead Lake.Irene is survived by her spouse, Micah of Great Falls; sisters Sharon (Dave) Brobst of Woodland, CA and Paula (Steve) Phelps of Rapid City, SD; brothers Don (Elizabeth) Crawford of Hayward, WI and Dale (Roxy) Crawford of Williams, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lucy; and sisters Susan and Cathy.
