Iva Mae “Tiny” (McArthur) Joslyn, 90, of Great Falls, passed away May 1, 2018 after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 409 13th Street South. Cremation has taken place. Ivy was born January 17, 1928 in Great Falls to Walter and Julia McArthur, and attended local schools. At 19, she met Arthur Joslyn of Ellisburg, New York at the old Rainbow Hotel downtown. They married in Great Falls on November 2, 1947, and had four children. They were later divorced, and Art died in 2002. She never remarried. Ivy was a homemaker until her divorce, then worked as a secretary while raising her kids. Once they were grown, she realized a lifelong dream of attending college, and earned a B.A. in Art at the University of Montana in 1983. For years, she taught art in day care centers in Missoula and Great Falls, and later worked crafting bronzes for other artists at a local foundry. From her retirement until 2016, she volunteered as a foster grandparent. Ivy found comfort in God, joy in the arts, passion in politics, and purpose in her family. Her example of love and loyalty was her greatest gift. Ivy is survived by brother Joe McArthur of Great Falls; two sons and two daughters: Dale (Rodia) Joslyn of Austin, Texas; and Joseph (Bonnie) Joslyn, Maureen (Dan) Pipinich, and Kathleen (Kurt) Rockeman, all of Great Falls; grandchildren Rachel (Harry) Sunderland, Daniel (Angel) Pipinich, David (Crystal) Pipinich, Matthew (Darcey) Absher, Melissa Absher, Mark (Hertense) Absher, Kathleen (David) Joslyn-Logue, Aaron Joslyn, Samantha Joslyn, Geneva (Martin) Groen, August Rockeman and Christian Rockeman; and great-grandchildren Honor, Erica, Amara, Raina and Troy Sunderland, Christopher, Jacqueline, Jericho, Aiden and Savannah Pipinich, Alyssa Munroe and Bekki Absher; and many nieces, nephews and young friends. She loved them all deeply. Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Julia McArthur; brothers Frank, Walt, Ray and Kenny McArthur; sisters Angel Fetty and Rose Van Tighem; and granddaughter Anne Rockeman Montgomery.
