Jackline L. (DeMuth) Brawley, 70, of Great Falls, passed away on the morning of September 26, 2019. Jackie was born September 20, 1949, in Great Falls to Jack and Delores DeMuth. She spent most of her life in Great Falls, where she met her husband, Burl, in December of 1966 while he was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Jackie and Burl were married in November of 1967, and they spent 51 years together. Jackie was the oldest of five children. She talked of memories spending time at her Grandpa Henry’s cabin at Harley Creek. While there, she enjoyed the time spent camping and fishing. In 1969, while Burl was deployed to Alaska, Jackie spent time in Cahokia, IL, where she worked at Casey’s Sporting Goods. This job stood out in Jackie’s memories because Casey’s provided skates to the St. Louis Blues Hockey team, so she was able to meet many of them while she worked there. In 1971, Jackie and Burl moved back to Great Falls, where they raised their family. Jackie worked with her mom at J and B Upholstery for many years before concentrating on raising her family with Burl. Her hobbies included crocheting and sewing for her family and friends. Her afghans are still cherished. Jackie and her family spent most summer weekends camping at Willow Creek Reservoir. She was also known for torturing her kids with classical big band music of the 1940’s while they were in the car. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks fan, and she had an extensive collection and love for chickens. Jackie’s favorite holiday was Halloween, and she loved to decorate for the occasion. Above all these things, the most important thing to Jackie was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jackie is survived by her husband, Burl; daughter, Melissa Blalock; sons, Burl Jr. (Kristy Slattery) Brawley, Blake (Bailey) Brawley; sister, Patty (Dave) Getts; brothers, Jim (Sharry) DeMuth and Ron (Colleen) DeMuth; uncle, Henry DeMuth; grandkids, Evelyn, Everett and Evan; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved Irish Setter, Dolly. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Florence; father, Jack; mother, Delores; stepfather, Richard; and her infant brother, Patrick. A service in her memory will take place at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial on October 2, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Jackie’s name be made to an organization that is special to you.
