James Evan Adams

January 16, 1942 — November 1, 2020

James “Jim” Evan Adams, Sr., 78, of Cascade, Montana, succumbed to the Covid-19 virus on November 1, 2020.He was the son of Fred Adams and Ruby Johnston and was born in Fort Peck, Montana on January 16, 1942. Jim married Judy Kay Taylor in 1964, and their loving union produced three sons, Jim, Jr. (Devany) of Plain City, Utah, John (Kristi) of Helena, Montana, and Jason (Ana) of Layton, Utah. He had several careers in his life. After serving in the US Navy, he worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a brakeman, and then later, he made a career with the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller. He concluded his working years as a bus driver for the Cascade School District, a job he very much enjoyed while cherishing his little passengers. Jim was a consummate craftsman who had many hobbies and was never afraid to try something new.He thoroughly enjoyed working with his hands and cussing when he hammered a finger. He was more than fair at photography and showed his sons how to develop photos with an artistic flair, wowing friends and family with slide shows of the Aurora Borealis as seen from Fairbanks, Alaska. Jim was father to three, grandfather to seven, and great-grandfather to seven (soon to be eight). His family was the most important thing to him throughout his life and he was always there to provide support in whatever way he could. He lifted us up with encouragement and wisdom and taught us how to live with love, respect, and honor. He will be missed more than words could ever express. Our hearts will be much fuller because of his presence, and our lives a bit emptier with his absence. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2021 at a place and time to be determined.
