James Jay Jewart

James Jay Jewart passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 77, from cancer in Great Falls, Montana. Jim (Jay, as his family knew him) was born May 10, 1949, in St. Joseph Hospital in Lewistown, Montana, to parents, Naomi (Noble) and Raymond Jewart, both of Lewistown. He attended Fergus County High School.

Jim served his country as a four-year Navy Veteran; he was a retired barber and after retirement he worked at the C. M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Naomi and Raymond; and sisters, Ella (DeSilva) Connolly and Linda Sue (Jewart) Pryor. He is survived by his brother, Larry Jewart of Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation has taken place and he will be interred at a military cemetery.
