Joan Marie Anthony

Joan Marie Anthony of Great Falls passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the age of 67.Per her request no services are being held. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Joan was born March 3, 1947 to Fred and Josephine Smith. At a young age Joan was active in the Great Falls figure skating community where she both competed and judged. Joan married James Anthony on April 16, 1966. Together they raised two children.She was a mother figure to numerous nieces and nephews and a number of neighborhood kids. Her passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of many. Joan worked as a Teachers Aid at Sunnyside Elementary School until retirement.Joan is survived by her husband James; children Dan (Kim) Anthony and Connie (Lee) Norsworthy; five grandchildren Mitch, Lane, Sammy, Tommy and Mackenzie; and those who called her Grandma Joan. There is not enough space to list all the people who meant so much to Joan and her family.She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Michael and Richard Smith.
