John Mason Spriggs, aged 66, died March 31, 2026, in Great Falls, MT. John was born March 4, 1960, in Springfield, OH, to Sherman and Esther Spriggs. He graduated from Shawnee High School in Springfield in 1980. Just a few days later, he headed off to basic training to begin his career in the United States Airforce. John was first stationed in New Mexico, where he met and married Julie Rogers. They later divorced. He also spent a handful of years in Holland, which became a highlight of his life and which he would continue to talk about fondly for years to come. John eventually found himself in Great Falls, MT, where he would remain for the next forty years.
In 1990, John married Juanita Klotz, née Whitaker. John left the military in 1992 and began working at Kairos Youth Services, where he found purpose in helping troubled youth. John and Juanita had three children together before divorcing in 2003.
John spent about ten years at Kairos before he began working at EasterSeals-Goodwill, from which he eventually retired. In 2010, John married Sherry Spriggs. They later divorced.
John enjoyed going to car shows, antique malls, and local football games. He loved taking his children to the movies on the weekend and was a big film fan. He collected Wizard of Oz and Peanuts memorabilia for many years.
John is preceded in death by his eldest son, Devin Erik Spriggs; his parents, Sherman and Esther Spriggs; and his brother, Bruce Spriggs.
He is survived by his son, Kyle Mason Spriggs; daughter, Emily Rose Spriggs; sister, Cathy (Kurt) Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Victory Church, to be followed by a burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. There will be a no-host luncheon afterward at Fuddruckers. All are welcome.
