Joseph "Joe" Watson

Joseph F. Joe Watson, 68, of Great Falls, owner of Big Sky Quilts, retired postal supervisor, and US Army Purple Heart Veteran, died of complication due to multi-strokes and cancer Tuesday, May 7, at the hospital.A funeral service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Great Falls with a viewing starting 5:00 p.m. At celebration of Joes life will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home. The graveside service will be on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Harrison near Helena, MT.Joe was born on January 13, 1945, in Sipsey, Alabama, to Homer Bascom Watson and Mary Mae (Williams) Watson. Joe attended school in Akron, Ohio. He served in the United States Army until his retirement. He married Joyce Watson and moved to Montana were he joined the US Postal Service retiring in 2011.Joe worked at Big Sky Quilts in Great Falls in 1999, were he quilted and repaired sewing machines. Joe's memorial moments include being an Accredited Golden Gloves Boxer, a police/swat team member, volunteer firefighter, traveling all over the world, and worked with the Boy ScoutsSurvivors include his wife, Joyce Marie Slaugh Watson of Great Falls; son Joseph L. Watson; daughters Anne Rowe, Victoria Watson, and Catherine Williams; brothers Homer and Ray Watson of Ohio; and grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted and can be sent to Big Sky Quilts, 101A Central Ave, Great Falls, MT 59401 to be distributed to Joe's favorite charities.
