Kathy Ward

Kathy Ward of Great Falls passed away on May 22, 2026. She was born in Billings, MT, on July 5, 1958, to Lyle and Mary Lee Carte. She did a majority of her schooling in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1976. She married Randy Ward on April 30, 1977, and the two welcomed children Jennifer and Cory shortly thereafter. For 30 years, she owned and operated a daycare out of her home, caring for many children along the way. After retiring, she was thrilled to welcome her two granddaughters into her world, Breanna and Oaklee.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Randy Ward; children, Jennifer Cochran and Cory (Brandy) Ward; granddaughters, Breanna Cochran and Oaklee Ward; sister, Liz Schwartz; and brothers, Dan Carte and Lyle Carte Jr.; and many nieces and nephews who always held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Mary Lee Carte; and brother, Thomas Carte.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
