Laverne Roslyn Kitson

Laverne “Vernie” Roslyn Kitson, 85, passed away June 6, 2018 at Goldstone Assisted Living. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Vernie was born June 29, 1932 in Great Falls to John and Bertha Pilgeram and was raised on the family ranch at Eden. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1950. On August 15, 1953 she married the love of her life Arlen Kitson and they would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this year. In 1958 a son Glen was born and in 1964 a daughter Brenda. Vernie was a hard working ranch wife and an active partner on the ranch at Millegan and later with Arlen in a cattle buying business. She enjoyed caring for her lawns and homes, and never missed a family event or her grandchildren’s sporting events. She always enjoyed visiting with friends, hosting many poker parties, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her husband, Arlen Kitson; son Glen (Michelle) Kitson; daughter Brenda (Don) Ivers; brother Jim Pilgeram; and three grandchildren, Lauryl (Slavik) Denega, Royce Kitson and Billy (Emily) Ivers.
