Margaret Mardy Gibson Millard, 96, a Black Eagle native, passed away peacefully at Park Place Health Care Center on Sunday, November 17, 2013.Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. Mardy will be buried with her husband at the Highland Military Cemetery. A celebration of Mardys life will be held in Great Falls next summer.Mardy was born to Olga and Grady Gibson on December 30, 1916. She attended the Hawthorne School in Black Eagle and Great Falls High. Mardy married John Halverson Hal Millard on January 31, 1939. They had two sons, John Dennis and Richard Dick Allen. Mardy worked as a waitress for many years at The Brass Rail, Dempsey Inn, HoTai, Borries, Mikes Place, and the 3D Club.She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of the Hotel and Restaurant Employee Union, the American Legion Drill Team and Auxiliary, the Columbus Hospital Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters, Saint Gerards and Blessed Trinity churches. She volunteered with the Gift of Life. Mardy was best known for her lively spirit and sense of humor. She was a loyal friend, wife, mother and grandmother.Mardy spent the last 9 years of her life at Park Place in Great Falls. Thank you to the kind employees who cared for her all those years.Mardy is survived by her granddaughter, Cindy (Thomas) Millard of Red Lodge; grandsons, Richard (Cary) Millard of Seattle, WA and Samuel (Jenn) Myers; great-grandsons Ryan and Simon Myers of Yakima, WA; niece Connie (Eric) Ray of Great Falls; and other nieces, nephews and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tony Gibson; sister, Ellen Thompson; and sons Richard and Dennis.Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
