Mitchell Mitch Dammen, 24, of Fairfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at home from a heart attack.He was born July 25, 1991, in Missoula, Montana. He attended elementary school at Greenfield School and high school in both Fairfield and Power. A 2010 graduate of Power High School, Mitchell went on to earn an Associates degree and a Certificate of Applied Science in Welding Technology from Montana State University in May of 2013. He was an accomplished welder, having most recently worked for Gerbers of Montana.Mitchell loved the outdoors, and spent much of his free time fishing and hunting. He enjoyed participating in sports, competing in baseball, basketball, football and track. He was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church in Great Falls.He is survived by his daughter, Aubree Linda Marie; parents Larry and Susanna Dammen of Fairfield; grandparents Dennis and Dianne Dammen of Power, extended family including Heather Nelson of Billings; David and Cyndi Nelson of Silesia; Kodi, Bruce and David Larson also of Silesia; Amanda and Henry Fox of Laurel; Zachary Howard of MI; Kathleen Lay of FL; Linda and Kenneth Lay of Great Falls; and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Verda Mitchell.Visitation for Mitchell will be held at Schnider Funeral Home in Great Falls from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 4, 2016. A graveside service and interment will be held following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery with Pastor David Mitchell of Roachdale, IN officiating.
