Patrick R. Doherty, 62, of Belgrade and formerly of Great Falls, passed away Sep. 6 at his home with his family at his side.Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2016 at 6:30 p.m., one hour prior to the vigil service at 7:30 p.m., both at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the funeral liturgy at 3:00 p.m., both at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Patrick was born in Great Falls on May 4, 1954, the son of Doc and Kaye Doherty. He graduated from CMR High School in 1972. He married Glenda Kramer at St. Josephs Catholic Church on July 19, 1975. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Seattle, Washington and he went to work for the Teamsters Union Local 174. His two children, Shannon and Ryan were born and raised in Seattle. He retired in 2004 and moved to Folsom, California and later returned to his home state of Montana to be with his family and many friends.He was a coach and mentor for many children. Being a kindhearted man, he made friends easily and maintained lifetime friendships. He was an Irishman, loved classic cars, and the outdoors. He was the jungle gym for his grandchildren and they loved their papa.Patrick is survived by his wife, Glenda Doherty; son Ryan (Alia Mahlum) Doherty; daughter Shannon (David) Geddis; sister Maureen Lewis; and grandchildren Elsie Ava, Bailey Marie, and Mollie Ann.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, our angel baby Ava Marie; parents Doc and Kaye Doherty; and brother Ryan Doherty.
