Robert "Bob" Doughty

Robert Bob Doughty, 80, of Great Falls, Montana passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 following a lengthy battle with lymphoma.A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Grandview Town Square, 3015 18th Ave S. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the cremation.Bob was born August 30, 1936 in Conrad, Montana to John and Margaret Doughty. He attended "public" schools in Oilmont, MT and graduated in 1954. Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. While working in Culbertson, Bob met and married Donna Hunter in 1965.He spent the majority of his career, 40 plus years, with the Mountain Bell and AT&T. He enjoyed outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and spending time in Glacier Park and the Flathead Valley.Bob is survived by his wife, Donna, of 51 years; sons Don(Barbara) of Great Falls, MT, Kent (Kami) of Miles City, MT; grandchildren Quincey, Grant, Deven and Emily; brother Bill Doughty of Shelby, MT; sisters Marleen Blair of Shelby, MT and Peggy Hartwell of Cut Bank, MT.He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margaret Doughty; brother Jon Doughty and Don and Martha Hunter.The Doughty family wishes to thank Dr. Bryan Martin and staff at Sletten Cancer Center and the entire staff at Grandview for their sincere and compassionate care.
