Robert Lee Kalanick

April 18, 1992 — June 10, 2018

Robert Lee Kalanick, 26, of Missoula, known as Robbie to his family and Bob to his friends, passed away in a tragic accident on June 10, 2018. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Black Eagle Park. Bob was the kindest, most patient and gentle person anyone could know. He was constantly creating music and art, and brought joy to all his friends and family with his drums, photographs and paintings. His creative talents were truly inspiring. Bob was the happiest when standing on top of a mountain, especially in Glacier Park, and loved hiking, fishing, camping with family in Lincoln, playing “dirty marbles” and being an uncle. Bob’s go-with-the-flow presence brought calm and relaxation to all around him. Bob was born on April 18, 1992 in Great Falls to Melvin “Butch” and Sandi (Meier) Kalanick. He graduated from Great Falls High, class of 2010, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana in 2014. Bob is survived by his mother, Sandi (Dave) Bourdeau of Great Falls; his brother Cory (Kate) Kalanick, nephew Braden, and niece Ruby all of Denver, CO; uncles Steve Meier, Geno and Frank Kalanick, and Rodger and John “Happy” Graves; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; aunt Susan Meier; uncles Mark and Rick Kalanick and Wayne Skjold; and grandparents Dale and Marilyn Meier and George and Vera Kalanick. Bob’s enduring spirit will live on and he will be missed forever.
