Robert Joseph Sangray, 87, passed away on April 15, 2018 in Yuma, Arizona, right where Robert wanted to be. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest, 1410 13th St South with a committal service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Augusta cemetery. Robert was born September 19, 1930 in Gilman, Montana to Thomas and Annie Rose Sangray. He attended school in Augusta, Montana and after graduating he went right into the Navy and served from 1952 to 1956 in the Seabee’s. Robert married Raeda Robbins and had eight children. They later divorced. Robert then married Eloda Detmers, together they traveled the world; dancing in Norway and traveling to Alaska several times. Eloda passed away in 2009. Robert worked for the railroad for all of his life and retired in 1992. Robert loved dancing, fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker and taught his children to do the same. Robert was a lifelong member of the Sons of Norway, attending all the conferences and making meatballs for the fair. Every year he held a family reunion on rodeo weekend in Augusta because he loved spending time with his family. These last few years Robert was seen dancing with a special friend Lauretta they would travel to Yuma, Arizona to get away from the Montana winter’s cold. Robert is survived by his daughters, Sara Allen (Darell), Teresa Koskimaki, Shirley Dubois (Guy), Noreen Swearingen (Donny), Peggy Vo (Yung); sons, Robert Sangray (Grace) and Richard Sangray (Michelle) and 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by daughter JoElyn Brown, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. “Bye for now”
