Roberto Gordillo

Roberto Gordillo, 44, passed away Sunday, October 19 at his home from natural causes.A visitation will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Schnider Funeral Home. A vigil will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A funeral liturgy will be Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Roberto was born May 26, 1970 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He was the youngest of three children. He spent the first 29 years of his life in Guatemala, where he graduated from high school. He moved to Great Falls, Montana in 1999 to be near family. Roberto married Terri McCarvel in 2005, and they had one son, Diego, his Mijo.He was always a hardworking man who held several jobs until he established GF Quality Painting in 2005. Through his business, he made many friends in the community.Roberto will be remembered for his kind, generous spirit. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He found the greatest joy in making others happy, especially with his legendary Fourth of July celebrations. He loved traveling with his family, World Cup soccer, and spending time with his 9 year old son. One of his proudest moments was becoming a U.S. citizen on September 19, 2011.He will be dearly missed by everyone who loved him.Roberto is survived by his wife, Terri; sons Diego of Great Falls and Roberto Antonio of Guatemala; mother Marys Garcia (Tita) of Great Falls; father Manuel Antonio Gordillo of Guatemala; sisters Ana Rebeca Gordillo of Guatemala and Maria (Darrel) Steele of Casper, WY; father and mother-in-law Jim and Rose McCarvel; 10 nieces and nephews; many extended family members and numerous friends.
