Ruth Lyola (Crawford) McAllister unexpectedly passed away January 30, 2018, at her home in Henderson, Nevada. Ruth was born on November 15, 1934 in Great Falls, MT, to Alfreda and Lyle Crawford. Ruth was the eldest of the three children. She grew up in Dutton, MT, and the family eventually moved to Great Falls where she was a proud graduate of Great Falls High School Class of 1952. She was able to attend her 65th high school reunion this past summer. On June 5, 1952, Ruth married her husband of 65 years, Patrick A. McAllister, at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Great Falls. Together they had 3 children, Colleen, Terry, and Lonnie. Ruth loved shopping and worked retail at Montgomery Wards until her retirement. Ruth was also a homemaker and worked in the gift shop at both local hospitals. She loved spending time at their cabin on Holter Lake fishing and playing cards. She cherished her family and took pride in remembering important dates of all her family and friends. She celebrated every holiday, big or small, spoiling her children, grandchildren, and eventually, great-grandchildren. Ruth will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her, but especially by her husband, Patrick; daughter Colleen Way (Brian); her son Lonnie McAllister; grandchildren Ryan Busta, Dori (Tyler McDonald) Busta, Jesse McAllister, Janell (Brandon) Brown; and great-great grandchildren Braylon Brown, Paxton Brown, Avery McDonald, and Isaac McDonald; siblings Juel (Theresa) Crawford and Joleen Gillin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Terry. A saying of the Rosary will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 beginning at 10:40 a.m. The funeral liturgy will begin at 11:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Lourdes. Burial will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
