Samuel Frederic Paladichuk

June 22, 1940 — November 4, 2020

Samuel Paladichuk was born on June 22, 1940, in Savage, MT.He was the first of four children born to Sam and Doris Paladichuk. He spent his early years attending school in Savage, playing basketball, and working on a local farm. Even as a young boy, his strong work ethic and devotion to those closest to him was evident. Upon graduation, Samuel was offered basketball scholarships to schools in Boulder, Colorado and Glendive, Montana; however, he opted to work in Great Falls and Havre before joining the Army at the same time as his brother, Ray. Honorably discharged in 1964, he moved to Great Falls where he worked 44 years for Suhr Mayflower Transport as a professional mover. The families he served trusted his expertise, and many times he was personally requested for moves. Upon retirement, Samuel was recognized for driving 4 million accident-free miles during his career. Though dedicated to his career, Sammy’s highest devotion was his family. Sam was married to Marilyn DesJardin. Their son, Gary brought them great joy. As a father and grandfather, he shared his love through quality time and acts of service. He proudly attended Gary's sporting events and enjoyed traveling throughout Montana and Canada for his games. He continued the traditions with his grandson, Schafer and granddaughter, Landri. He delighted in their phone calls after the games, and he was always a source of inspiration and encouragement. Sammy enjoyed playing golf with family and rooting for his favorite football teams; the Montana Griz and Minnesota Vikings. He loved connecting and sharing memories with all his nieces and nephews at family reunions. Phone calls with family were so important to him, and he especially looked forward to his early morning calls with his brother, Francis. Anyone who knew Sam knew he was always someone you could talk to, always someone upon whom you could depend, and always had a good story or joke to tell. Samuel F. Paladichuk passed into his heavenly home on November 4, 2020. A celebration of life will be held next spring or summer. He is survived by his son, Gary Paladichuk; grandchildren, Schafer and Landri Paladichuk; brothers, Ray (Karen) Paladichuk of Livermore, CA, and Francis (Maureen) Paladichuk of Spokane, WA; sister, Juanita (Tom) Littlepage of Denver, CO; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Doris Paladichuk. Although we miss him dearly, the memories we have will live in our hearts forever.
