With heavy hearts and deep love, we celebrate the life of Sandra Marie (Polutnik) Buus, who left this world far too soon on February 13, 2026, at the age of 56. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the gift of her life and the countless memories she leaves behind.
She was the proud mother of Justin Buus (Meagan Kuoppala-Buus); stepdaughter, Kristen Linn (David); devoted sister to Michael Polutnik; and beloved daughter of Ernest and Annette Polutnik. Growing up, she deeply loved and cherished her time creating memories at family gatherings with her beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. One of her greatest joys was her family and her cherished dog, Max.
Sandie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest and Florence Polutnik; Arthur and Margaret Baumgardner; and Darrell and Bette Buus; her uncles, Jim Baumgardner and William Raschkow.
Born in Great Falls, Montana, on April 4, 1969, Sandie carried with her a spirit that was both gentle and strong. She lived a life marked by joy, compassion, and faith. At her very best, Sandie had a rare gift for making people feel truly loved and cared for. She was known for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and generous nature toward anyone in need. Her mere presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. She found deep fulfillment in her hobbies, career passions, and service to others. Sandie’s life was a testament to love and compassion, and her impact on all who knew her will never fade.
Though we grieve her absence, we hold tightly to the love she gave so freely and the light she brought into our lives. Sandie’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days ahead. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered.
The family will host a small Celebration of Life at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center in Great Falls, Montana.
